Getting started with Dentity
What the app offers, who it is for, and how to use its Arabic and English experiences.
What is Dentity, and what can I do in the app?
Dentity is a dental education and practice organisation app with Arabic and English interfaces. It brings together dental lectures, lecture quizzes, research articles, a dentist directory, community advertisements, and Denterna, a tool for organising patient records on your device.
Students can use the educational sections to organise their learning, while dentists can use the professional and record-management features relevant to their work. The app supports learning and organisation; its educational material does not replace professional judgement, an individual patient assessment, or guidance from your institution.
Direct link to this questionIs Dentity only for dental students?
No. Dentity includes resources for dental students and features that can also be useful to practising dentists. Lectures and quizzes support study and revision; research explainers support reading; the directory and advertisements connect members of the dental community.
Choose the sections that match your role and level of training. If you are new to the app, open App Guide in the Profile/settings area to become familiar with its features, then start with a subject or article relevant to your work. You do not need to use patient records, publish a profile, or post an advertisement to benefit from the learning content.
Direct link to this questionCan I use Dentity in Arabic and English?
Yes. Dentity has Arabic and English interfaces, including right-to-left presentation for Arabic. Use the language setting in the app to choose the interface you prefer. The interface refreshes when the language changes, so return to the feature you were using if its screen is reopened.
Changing the interface language does not automatically translate every lecture, contributor profile, advertisement, or external source. Those items may keep the language in which they were published. If you report a translation or layout issue, include the selected language and the screen name so support can reproduce it.
Direct link to this questionWhat is the difference between the Dentity app and website?
The Dentity website provides public information and web content, while the mobile app contains the signed-in app experience and device-based features such as Denterna patient storage. A page available on the website does not mean that every mobile feature also has a browser version.
Use the mobile app for tasks involving its local records, app settings, and device notifications. For public learning material, research pages, and directory information, you can also explore the relevant website sections. Signing into a website should not be treated as a backup or a way to transfer locally stored patient records.
Direct link to this questionHow do I install Dentity or get the latest app update?
Install or update Dentity through its official listing in the app store for your device. Open that listing and use the install or update option shown by the store. If the store shows Open, it is offering the version currently available to your device and account.
App updates can appear at different times depending on store processing, availability, and your device. Keep your operating system supported by the store listing and allow enough free storage. Before changing phones, removing the app, or using a repair step that deletes its storage, create and verify a current Denterna cloud backup if you have patient records.
Direct link to this questionYour account and sign-in
Signing in, password recovery, account identity, and safe access on another device.
Can I browse Dentity lectures without creating an account?
Yes. Choose Browse without an account on the opening screen to explore the guest experience. Guests can open the first two lectures in each subject. To continue with further lectures, sign in or create an account; the updated signed-in lecture experience is free and does not require a lecture subscription.
The guest allowance applies per subject, rather than being a two-lecture lifetime allowance across the app. Account-linked features require the appropriate sign-in. If you already have an account, use its original sign-in method instead of creating another account when you reach the guest limit. A request to sign in is not a request to pay.
Direct link to this questionI forgot my Dentity password. How do I reset it?
If you use an email and password to sign in, open the password-reset option on the sign-in screen and enter the email address associated with your account. Check the inbox and spam or junk folder for the reset message, and follow the link in the most recent message.
A reset request does not confirm whether an email address has an account. If you originally used a sign-in provider, return to that provider option instead of assuming you have a separate Dentity password. Your account password is also different from a Denterna backup password; resetting one does not unlock an encrypted backup protected by the other.
Direct link to this questionWhy can I not sign in to my Dentity account?
The opening screen offers email, Google, and Apple sign-in. First check that you are using the same method and account identity you used before. Another email or provider account may lead to a different Dentity account. Check for spelling mistakes and make sure the device has a working internet connection.
If sign-in still fails, close and reopen the app and try again on a stable connection. Record the exact error text and the sign-in method, but never send your password or a verification code to support. If the app shows a restriction or account message, include that message rather than repeatedly creating new accounts.
Direct link to this questionWhy do my profile, subscription, or learning details look different after sign-in?
Check that you have signed in to the same Dentity account you used previously. Using another email address or sign-in method can make it appear that account-linked information is missing when you are actually viewing a different account. Note the account identity shown in the app before contacting support.
Store purchases also involve the Apple or Google account used to pay, so the Dentity account and store account both matter. Patient records require a separate check because Denterna stores them locally and protects access through its vault. Do not delete accounts, uninstall the app, or clear storage while investigating missing records.
Direct link to this questionCan I use my Dentity account on a new phone?
You can sign in with your existing Dentity account on another supported device. Use the same sign-in method and, for purchases, the appropriate store account. Account sign-in does not automatically move every item stored on your old device. Lecture playback has its own two-device limit, which you can manage from the lectures area.
For Denterna, create and verify a cloud backup on the old device through Backup & Restore, and keep its password securely. On the new device, sign into the same account and restore the available backup with that password. Check the records and photos before retiring the old phone. A backup belonging to a different account will not become available simply because you use the same device.
Direct link to this questionFree lectures and video playback
Finding lectures, understanding access, and resolving common playback problems.
Are dental lectures in Dentity free?
The updated Dentity lecture experience provides free access to lectures after sign-in. You do not need to buy a subscription simply to watch those lectures. Older app versions and account screens can refer to earlier offerings. If you encounter a legacy lecture paywall, check the official store listing for an available update.
If an old receipt or subscription appears in your account, review it separately in the store that handled the purchase. Free lecture access does not itself cancel a recurring subscription. Check the subscription’s status in Apple or Google settings if you want to confirm whether a renewal is still scheduled.
Direct link to this questionHow do I find lectures for my year or subject?
Open the education or lectures area and browse the year and subject organisation shown in the app. Lectures are arranged around dental-school study areas, which makes the subject and lecture title useful starting points when you are looking for a particular topic.
Course structures differ between universities, so a year label in Dentity may not match your own timetable exactly. Search or browse by the subject itself when that happens. If you cannot find a lecture you previously watched, keep its title or teacher’s name and share those details with support; a screenshot of the old listing is also useful if it contains no private information.
Direct link to this questionWhat should I do if a lecture will not play or keeps buffering?
Check whether other internet content loads, then try the lecture again on a stable connection. Close and reopen the player if it has stopped responding. If the problem affects one lecture only, note its title and the point at which playback fails; a source-specific problem is different from every video failing.
Some lectures depend on an external video source, whose availability or playback restrictions can change. Send support the lecture title, your device, app version, and the exact error shown. Start with these reversible checks rather than reinstalling, especially if you keep patient records in Denterna and have not verified a backup.
Direct link to this questionCan I download new lectures and watch them offline?
Do not rely on Dentity as a way to download new lectures for offline viewing. The current lecture experience is designed around online playback, and adding a lecture to favourites is not the same as saving a playable video file on your device.
Some devices may still contain encrypted lecture downloads created by an earlier version, and existing compatible downloads may remain playable. That does not establish support for downloading new lectures or transferring old download files to another device. Before travelling or studying without a connection, check what actually opens on your device and plan for online access where needed.
Direct link to this questionWhy does Dentity ask me to manage devices before playing a lecture?
Signed-in lecture playback is limited to two device installations. If both slots are already in use, open the lecture home screen and choose Manage Devices to remove an old lecture device you no longer use. Then return to the lecture on your current device.
This playback limit is separate from ordinary account sign-in, so being able to sign in does not necessarily mean a lecture slot is available. Check the listed devices carefully before removing one. If you no longer recognise a device or cannot resolve the access message, contact support with the message and your device model, without sharing passwords or verification codes.
Direct link to this questionQuizzes, scores, and learning progress
Practice questions, result submission, leaderboard information, and feedback.
How do I find a quiz for a lecture?
Look for the quiz associated with the lecture or browse the quiz area available in the app. Quiz availability depends on the content that has been published; a lecture appearing in the catalogue does not necessarily mean that it already has a corresponding question set.
Use the lecture title and subject to check that the quiz covers the material you intend to revise. If you expect a quiz but cannot find it, send support the exact lecture title rather than only the year or subject name. This makes it easier to distinguish missing content from an issue opening an existing quiz.
Direct link to this questionWhat is the difference between Practice and Challenge quizzes?
Practice is designed for review: it uses a stable question order, has no clock or points, and does not update scored statistics. Challenge shuffles the questions and answer options and can submit your score, time, points, and streak information after you finish.
Choose Practice when you want to work through the material without score pressure, and Challenge when you want a scored attempt. The result screen offers Review and Try Again; Try Again starts another run. Both modes are study tools, not official examinations or professional certification. An available quiz does not promise a university credit or recognised continuing-education award.
Direct link to this questionWhy is my quiz result missing or taking time to appear?
Quiz results depend on successful submission and server validation. If your connection changes while submitting, the app may not immediately show the result you expect. Keep the quiz open long enough to read its submission status and any error message, and check that you are still signed into the intended account.
Avoid repeatedly submitting while a request is pending. If the result remains missing, contact support with the quiz title, approximate attempt time, and any visible completion or error message. Do not include unrelated patient information in screenshots. A score visible during an attempt is not necessarily confirmation that the server accepted a completed result.
Direct link to this questionHow do challenge points and the leaderboard work?
Challenge scoring takes correct answers into account and can add speed and streak bonuses. The 30-second countdown affects the speed bonus; reaching zero does not automatically make your answer incorrect. Practice attempts do not update scored statistics, so completing Practice is not the same as submitting a Challenge score.
Leaderboard updates depend on a result being saved successfully. If you see a message that your score could not be saved, check your connection and report the quiz title and attempt time if needed. Try Again begins a new attempt; it is not confirmation that a failed result was resubmitted. Use Review to revisit the questions and learn from the attempt.
Direct link to this questionHow do I report a quiz question or answer that seems incorrect?
Send support the quiz title, the question text or number, and a clear description of the issue. Distinguish between a possible factual error, an unclear translation, an image problem, and a technical scoring problem. These require different kinds of investigation.
If you have a reliable source that explains the correction, include its title or public link and the relevant detail. Avoid sending an entire copyrighted textbook or patient record. A report helps the team investigate, but it does not automatically change a submitted score or establish a clinical recommendation while the question is being reviewed.
Direct link to this questionResearch articles and clinical explainers
Reading articles, checking original sources, and sharing research links.
What will I find in the Dentity research section?
The research section brings together articles and clinical explainers relevant to dentistry. An explainer is intended to make a topic or published finding easier to follow, with the article’s source information helping you continue to the original material.
Read the full article context, including its limits and references, rather than relying on a feed headline alone. The explanation is educational and cannot account for every patient, local protocol, or later publication. When you need to make a professional decision, evaluate the original evidence and the guidance appropriate to your setting.
Direct link to this questionHow can I check the original source behind a research article?
Open the article and look for its references, source attribution, or original-publication link. Use those details to compare the explainer with the paper or publication it discusses. A source may have a separate abstract, full-text page, or access requirement outside Dentity.
Check the publication date, study type, population, and limitations before applying a conclusion to another situation. If a source link is broken, send support the Dentity article title and the link that failed. Access to an explainer does not guarantee free access to every external journal article or permission to redistribute the original paper.
Direct link to this questionHow do I share a research article, and does sharing create a PDF?
Use Share with a friend in the research reader to open your device’s sharing options. The current sharing action sends the public Dentity research link and a short introduction in the selected language; it does not export the complete article as a PDF. Choose the destination app and review the message before sending it.
Where the Instagram Story option is available, it prepares an image and opens Instagram’s composer, where you finish the post. A shared Dentity link is different from the publisher’s original paper. Keep the source attribution when discussing the article, and use its original-study link when you need to read the underlying research.
Direct link to this questionWhy is a research source in a different language from the app?
The interface language and the language of an external research source are separate. Dentity can present an Arabic or English interface while linking to a paper published in another language. Changing the app language does not translate the external publisher’s website.
When comparing an explanation with its source, pay attention to technical terms, numbers, and the study’s stated limits. If a translation in Dentity appears unclear, report the article title, the selected language, and the exact sentence. Quoting a short relevant passage is more useful than sending a large document without explaining the issue.
Direct link to this questionHow do I report a research correction, broken link, or missing article?
Contact support with the article title or public URL and describe exactly what needs attention. For a broken link, include the destination that fails. For a factual correction, explain the claim you are questioning and provide the original publication or another appropriate source.
If an article has disappeared from a list, mention the approximate date you read it and any category or topic you remember. Content can be revised as errors are corrected or sources are checked. Keep important reading references in your own notes, and avoid treating a saved screenshot as evidence that the article is still current.
Direct link to this questionDenterna patient records
Local patient information, photos, dental charting, and protecting records on your device.
What is Denterna inside the Dentity app?
Denterna is the patient-record area inside Dentity. It helps you organise patient information, notes, treatment-related entries, photos, appointments, and dental charting using records stored on your device. It is separate from the app’s public educational content and dentist directory.
Enter only the information you are authorised to maintain and review each record before relying on it. Organising a case in the app does not replace your responsibility for consent, accurate documentation, retention, or applicable professional requirements. Create a current password-protected backup whenever the records are important to your work.
Direct link to this questionWhere are Denterna patient records and photos stored?
Active Denterna patient records are stored locally in an encrypted, account-scoped vault on your device, and patient photo files are encrypted as well. Normal record entry is not continuous cloud synchronisation. A cloud backup is a separate copy that you deliberately create through Backup & Restore.
This makes your device and verified backups important. Losing the device, deleting app storage, or removing the app can put local records and keys at risk. Protect the device with its normal security controls, create a current backup, and retain its password. Account-password recovery alone cannot recreate records that existed only on the device.
Direct link to this questionDo patient records automatically sync between my phone and iPad?
Denterna does not continuously synchronise active patient records between devices. Denterna’s active records are local to the device, so signing into the same Dentity account on a phone and an iPad is not a guarantee that both devices will show the same patient list or photos.
Use the supported backup and restore workflow to move records when needed, and keep track of which device contains the most recent changes. Creating or editing the same case independently on two devices can make later restoration confusing. Back up the receiving device before importing, because matching case identifiers can be overwritten by the restored data.
Direct link to this questionWhat do the tooth numbers in Denterna mean?
Denterna uses FDI tooth notation in its dental charting, including the permanent-tooth numbering from 11 through 48. The numbers identify teeth within quadrants; they are identifiers rather than a simple count from the first tooth to the last.
Check the selected tooth carefully before saving a status, note, or treatment-related entry, especially if you normally use another numbering system. This support page explains the app’s notation, not how to diagnose or plan treatment. If the interface appears to select a different tooth than the one you tapped, report the device and screen behaviour without sending an identifiable patient chart.
Direct link to this questionWhat should I do if a patient photo or record does not open?
Stop before deleting files, clearing app storage, or reinstalling. Confirm that you are using the expected account and device, then note the exact error and whether the issue affects one item or every patient record. If other records remain accessible, create and verify a current backup before attempting any disruptive repair.
Encrypted records depend on access to the correct local keys, so copying individual encrypted files or changing account details is not a reliable recovery method. Contact support with non-sensitive diagnostic details. Do not email identifiable patient photos or a full patient backup; support can first help determine what information is actually needed.
Direct link to this questionPatient backups and restoring records
Creating encrypted cloud backups, keeping the password, and restoring without avoidable data loss.
How do I create a Denterna patient backup?
Open Denterna, choose Backup & Restore, then Create Backup. Enter and confirm a separate backup password when prompted. The app prepares an encrypted copy of the patient data and available case photos before uploading it to the cloud backup storage associated with your signed-in account.
Use a strong password and store it securely so you can find it later. Wait for the process to complete, then verify that the backup appears in the backup list. Saving a patient record locally, signing out, or updating the app does not prove that a cloud backup has been created. A working internet connection is needed for the upload.
Direct link to this questionDo Denterna backups include patient photos?
Current Denterna backups include patient data and the available photo bytes associated with the cases. Photos are included in the encrypted backup content, rather than relying only on a path to a file on the original device. A photo that is already missing or unreadable cannot be assumed to appear in a new backup.
Older backups can differ: a legacy backup that saved only photo paths cannot recreate photo files that are no longer present. After restoring, open several records and their photos to verify the result before removing your original data. Some older interface wording may describe backups without photos; the current backup format includes available case photos.
Direct link to this questionHow do I restore a Denterna backup, and will it replace existing records?
Sign in to the account that owns the backup, open Backup & Restore in Denterna, choose the available backup, and use Restore Backup. Confirm the operation and enter the password that was used to create that particular backup. The account sign-in password is not a substitute for the backup password.
Create a current backup of the receiving device first. Restoration can overwrite existing cases that have matching case identifiers, while unrelated existing records remain. Do not treat it as a conflict-resolution service that automatically chooses your newest edits. After restoration, check patient details, case notes, and photos before continuing work or deleting another backup.
Direct link to this questionCan support recover a backup if I forget its password?
You need the password used when that backup was created to restore its encrypted contents. Do not expect support or an account-password reset to unlock a backup whose password you have forgotten. Keep backup passwords in a secure password manager or another protected place you can access when changing devices.
If the original patient records are still accessible in the app, create a new backup with a new password you can retain and verify that it completes. Preserve the accessible records while doing this. Do not delete the original app data on the assumption that a locked backup will later become recoverable, and never send your backup password to support.
Direct link to this questionWhy does a patient backup or restore fail?
Check the connection, available device storage, the signed-in account, and the password for the selected backup. Large photo collections can make a backup take longer or exceed the supported upload size; the current cloud backup upload must be smaller than 50 MiB. Do not repeatedly start another operation while one is still working.
Keep your current records and any existing backup intact while investigating. Note the error, the approximate backup size if shown, and whether failure happens during preparation, upload, download, or password entry. Send those details to support without the backup file or patient data. Delete Backup removes a stored copy; it is not a troubleshooting step for a failed restoration.
Direct link to this questionDentist profiles and directory
Finding dentists, maintaining your profile, and understanding public contact information.
How can I find a dentist in the Dentity directory?
Open the dentist directory and use the search or filters available on the screen to narrow the listings. Names, countries, and specialties can help you identify relevant profiles. Open a profile to read its published details and use the contact options the profile owner has provided.
Directory information is not a guarantee that a dentist is available, accepting patients, or providing a particular service at a stated time. Confirm current details directly before travelling or arranging an appointment. If a listing seems incorrect, send support the public profile link and explain which field needs checking.
Direct link to this questionHow do I update my dentist profile?
Open your own dentist profile and use its editing controls. The supported profile fields include items such as your name, country, specialty, about text, phone or social contact details, and profile photo. Review the information carefully before saving, especially contact numbers and links.
Use accurate professional information and only publish contact details you are comfortable making public. If you cannot edit a profile that you believe belongs to you, check the signed-in account and contact support with the public profile link. Do not create duplicate profiles to work around an ownership or sign-in issue.
Direct link to this questionWhy are my profile changes not visible yet?
First confirm that the edit was saved successfully and that you are looking at the same profile. A weak connection or a previously loaded directory view can make the displayed information appear unchanged. Reopen the profile with a working connection before entering the same changes again.
If the saved editor and public profile still disagree, report the profile link, the field involved, and when you changed it. Include only the information necessary to explain the mismatch. Do not repeatedly create new profiles or upload multiple copies of a photo, because that can make the original issue harder to identify.
Direct link to this questionWhich dentist-profile details should I keep private?
Treat information entered into a public dentist profile as information that directory visitors may be able to read or use to contact you. Publish professional contact details intentionally, and avoid putting passwords, personal identification documents, patient information, or private account-recovery details into profile text or images.
Before adding a photo, check its background and any visible paperwork or screen. If a public profile contains information that should not be there, edit the field if you own the profile and contact support if you need further help. Removing information from the app may not remove copies already made elsewhere.
Direct link to this questionDoes appearing in the directory mean a dentist is endorsed by Dentity?
A directory listing should not be treated as an endorsement, a guarantee of care, or proof of a particular professional licence. Use the profile as a starting point for finding public information and contacting the dentist, then make the checks appropriate to your location and needs.
Confirm qualifications, registration, services, fees, and appointment arrangements directly with the professional or relevant authority. Dentity support can investigate a problem with the app or a reported listing, but it does not make clinical suitability decisions for an individual patient. Share a profile link when reporting misleading or inaccurate public information.
Direct link to this questionCommunity ads and moderation
Submitting advertisements, checking status, and contacting advertisers carefully.
How do I post an advertisement in Dentity?
Use the advertisement-creation option in the Ads Board while signed in. Enter a clear description and the category, location, contact information, and photos requested by the form. Keep the information accurate and make sure you have permission to publish every image and contact detail.
Submitted ads enter a pending state for review before they are approved for public display. Submitting the same item repeatedly does not guarantee faster approval and can create duplicate entries. The current ordinary-user submission limit is ten ads per day. If you receive a limit or validation message, read it before trying to submit again.
Direct link to this questionWhy is my advertisement pending or not visible publicly?
A pending advertisement has been submitted but has not yet completed approval. Check My Ads to review its status rather than assuming that a successful submission immediately places it in the public board. Public visibility also depends on the ad remaining eligible and not having expired.
There is no guaranteed approval time stated here. If you need help, send support the advertisement title, its visible status, and when you submitted it. Avoid creating repeated copies while waiting. Keep a copy of your own description and original photos so you can refer to them if a correction is needed.
Direct link to this questionWhy did an ad expire or get rejected?
Ads have a limited display period, and the current expiry is set 30 days from submission. An expired ad is different from a rejected ad: expiry relates to its time window, while rejection follows the review decision. Check the status shown in My Ads and any associated message.
If the status is unclear, contact support with the ad title and visible explanation. Correct inaccurate or incomplete information before making a new submission, and do not assume a previous approval guarantees approval of another ad. A rejected or expired listing does not tell you whether an advertiser has completed a sale outside the app.
Direct link to this questionHow do I contact an advertiser, and does Dentity protect the transaction?
Open the advertisement and use the contact information provided by its owner. Confirm the item, service, location, availability, and terms directly with that person or organisation. An ad appearing in Dentity is not a guarantee of the seller’s identity, the product’s condition, or completion of a transaction.
Do not assume the app provides escrow, payment protection, delivery, or a refund arrangement for community ads. Be cautious about requests for verification codes, account passwords, or unnecessary personal documents. If an ad looks misleading, send its public link or identifying details to support rather than sharing sensitive information with the advertiser.
Direct link to this questionHow do I report an inappropriate, duplicate, or inaccurate ad?
Contact support with the ad link or title and a short explanation of the concern. State whether it is a duplicate, contains incorrect information, uses an image without permission, or raises another issue. Include a screenshot only if it helps explain the report and does not expose private information.
If the concern involves a conversation or transaction outside Dentity, distinguish what appears in the ad from what happened elsewhere. Support needs enough context to investigate the listing, but you should not send passwords, payment-card details, verification codes, or identifiable patient records. Keep your original records of the exchange in a secure place.
Direct link to this questionPurchases and existing subscriptions
Understanding legacy purchases, store billing, cancellations, and refund requests.
Why do I still see a subscription if lectures are now free?
Free lecture access does not automatically remove or cancel a subscription that was purchased previously. Your Dentity account may show details of an applicable legacy subscription, while the actual billing and renewal status is controlled by the store where you bought it.
Check your Apple or Google subscription list and its next renewal or expiry information. If you no longer want a recurring subscription, cancel it through that store. Deleting the app, signing out, or simply not using it is not a cancellation request. Contact support if the Dentity display seems inconsistent with the store record, using receipt details rather than payment-card information.
Direct link to this questionHow can I restore a previous Dentity purchase?
Use the same Dentity account and the same store account associated with the purchase. Where the legacy purchase screen offers Restore previous purchases, use that action while connected to the internet. The current free lecture home does not provide a universal restore control for every historical purchase.
Restoration depends on an eligible active purchase and account validation; it does not promise to reactivate an expired subscription, transfer ownership to another Dentity account, or move an Apple purchase to Google Play. If you cannot find the option or the purchase remains missing, contact support with your account email and the relevant store receipt or order identifier.
Direct link to this questionHow do I cancel a Dentity subscription billed by Apple?
Cancel an Apple-billed subscription through Apple’s subscription settings using the Apple Account that made the purchase. Follow Apple’s current instructions and check the confirmation or expiry information shown there. The store’s subscription record is the place to verify whether another renewal is scheduled.
Deleting Dentity, deleting your Dentity account, or removing a payment method should not be used as a substitute for cancellation. If the subscription does not appear, check the account and receipt rather than purchasing it again. Cancellation and refund requests are separate actions; consult Apple’s refund process if you are also seeking money back.
Direct link to this questionHow do I cancel a Dentity subscription billed by Google Play?
Use Google Play’s subscription-management process while signed into the Google account that made the purchase. Find the subscription, follow the cancellation steps, and review the status displayed by Google Play. If you have more than one Google account, the purchase may belong to a different one from the account currently selected.
Uninstalling the app does not cancel a store subscription. Keep the cancellation confirmation or order information if you need to follow up. If you cannot locate a charge, compare its receipt with the account you are checking. Dentity support can help investigate an app account issue, while Google controls the store cancellation flow.
Direct link to this questionHow do I request a refund for a Dentity store purchase?
Request a refund through the store that processed the payment and follow its current eligibility and submission rules. Apple purchases use Apple’s refund process; Google Play purchases use Google’s process. A request is not a guarantee of approval, and Dentity support should not be treated as able to override the store’s decision.
Keep the receipt or order identifier and describe the issue accurately. Do not send a full payment-card number, security code, password, or verification code. If your concern is an unexpected renewal, also check cancellation separately so you understand the status of future billing. Reporting a technical problem to support does not itself submit a store refund request.
Direct link to this questionNotifications and connectivity
Choosing alerts, checking device permissions, and understanding what needs internet access.
How do I change lecture and research notifications?
Open the Profile/settings area, choose Notifications, and review the notification preferences. The app offers separate controls for new lectures and new research. Select the options you want and use Save Preferences when it is shown so your choices are recorded.
These preferences work alongside your device’s permission for Dentity to show notifications. Turning on an in-app option cannot override a notification permission you have denied in the operating system. Advertisement notifications have their own settings, so adjust those separately if you want to change community-ad alerts as well.
Direct link to this questionHow do I choose which advertisement notifications I receive?
Open the Ads Board options and its notification settings. Choose the country required by the settings and select the advertisement categories you want to follow. The app also has a separate preference for notifications about the status of your own advertisements.
Review both the categories and country if you are receiving alerts that seem unrelated to you. Turning off category announcements should not be assumed to disable every account or service message. If an unexpected notification keeps arriving, send support its title, approximate time, and your chosen category settings without including private account details.
Direct link to this questionWhy am I not receiving Dentity notifications?
Check both places that control delivery: the relevant preference inside Dentity and the operating system’s notification settings for the app. Also check whether the device is using a focus mode, quiet mode, or another setting that hides or delays alerts. Make sure the device has a working connection.
Push notifications are not guaranteed to arrive immediately, and an absent alert does not necessarily mean that content was not published. Open the relevant section to check for new items directly. If the issue continues, report the notification type, device, app version, and when you expected it, rather than sending your device tokens or account credentials.
Direct link to this questionWhat should I do if tapping a notification opens the wrong screen?
First check whether the notification is old and whether you are signed into the account it relates to. An advertisement may have expired, a content item may have changed, or an account-specific destination may require you to sign in before opening.
Try opening the relevant section from inside the app and look for the item by its title. If the notification consistently opens an unrelated screen, report the notification text, the screen that opens, the expected item, and whether the app was open or closed when you tapped it. Do not include private message contents beyond what is needed to explain the navigation problem.
Direct link to this questionWhich Dentity features need an internet connection?
Internet access is needed for streaming new lectures, loading fresh research and community content, account operations, server-validated quiz results, and cloud backup or restoration. Previously loaded information may sometimes remain visible from a cache, but that is not a promise that an entire feature works offline.
Denterna stores active records locally, while access still depends on a usable account/session state and an initialised vault. Before working without a connection, check the exact task on your device. Do not assume that seeing an old list means new changes have uploaded, a score has been accepted, or a patient backup has completed.

What should I try if Dentity freezes, crashes, or shows an error?
Start with reversible checks: note the error, close and reopen the app, check the connection for online features, and look for an available update in the official store. Confirm whether the issue happens on one screen or across the app, and whether it began after a particular action.
Protect patient data before taking stronger steps. Do not clear app storage, uninstall, or delete your account as a first attempt to fix a crash. Verify an accessible Denterna backup and retain its password before any action that may remove local records or keys. Send support the device model, operating system, app version, and repeatable steps if the problem continues.

Normal sign-out locks access to the account’s local Denterna vault; it does not run the account-deletion wipe. You still need to return with the correct account and usable local storage to access the vault again. Signing out should not be confused with making a backup.
Account deletion, removing the app, clearing its data, and replacing the device are different operations with more serious consequences for local records or keys. Before any of those actions, verify your recovery options and any available backup. Do not assume that a signed-in account can rebuild patient information that has been deleted from its only usable location.

While signed in, open the Profile/settings area and choose Delete Account. Read the warnings, complete the required confirmation steps, and provide fresh password or provider authentication when requested. Account deletion is a destructive action, not a temporary pause or the same operation as signing out.
The deletion flow removes the account and associated data, including its cloud backup storage, and attempts local cleanup after server confirmation. Do not rely on a backup belonging to the deleted account remaining recoverable. Resolve any patient-record retention needs before proceeding. Cancel store subscriptions separately: deleting a Dentity account does not itself cancel Apple or Google billing.

Read the Dentity privacy policy for information about data handling and the app’s terms for the conditions of use. These documents are the appropriate starting point for understanding the published policies, while this FAQ explains practical product behaviour such as local patient storage and password-protected backups.
Different features handle different kinds of information. A public dentist profile or community ad is not the same as a local patient record, and store billing involves the platform that processed your purchase. If you have a specific privacy question, describe the feature and concern to support without sending the sensitive data itself.

Email mk@dentity.org for help with the Dentity app. Include a short description of the problem, your device model, operating system, app version, selected language, and the steps that led to it. For a particular lecture, article, profile, quiz, or ad, include its title or public link so the team can identify the item.
Add the exact error message and an approximate time if useful. Crop screenshots to remove personal information. Never send passwords, verification codes, backup passwords, identifiable patient records, or full payment-card details. For a purchase issue, a relevant store order identifier is more useful than card information. You can also use Contact Us in the app’s Profile/settings area, which opens the Dentity help channel on Telegram.
